There will be a shortage of GPs in the coming years due to the rising demand for care and the ageing population in the Netherlands. To ensure that there will be enough GPs available in the future, we work together with the Amsterdam UMC's GP School to train new GPs. This means that one doctor is trained as a GP with us every year. Dr T. Groot is the GP trainer in our practice.
The trainee GP is a graduate doctor who holds consultations and makes visits independently. However, each consultation is discussed with Dr T. Groot afterwards. If necessary, Dr T. Groot will be present during the consultation for advice or examination. Sometimes a video recording of a consultation is made for training purposes. You will be informed in advance if this is the case. Should you object to a recording, you can always indicate this.
Currently, Juliette Lako is working as a trainee GP in our practice.
